Preventative care Vet at Happy Paws

Ongoing preventative care is the best way to ensure your pet will live a healthy and happy life.

We recommend all pets have a complete wellness check every year. During this visit our vets examine your pet from nose to tail. This is the perfect time for you to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about your pet with your vet and get them up to date with their vaccinations and parasite control.

Preventative care includes routine health checks, vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, microchipping, dental/oral care and often blood and urine testing in our senior patients. There are so many different diets and parasite prevention products available, it can be quite confusing! Every pet and situation is different and there is not one product or diet that is the best for everyone. Our friendly team are very knowledgeable in these areas and would be happy to answer any questions you have and make recommendations as to what is best for your fur baby.

Senior pets are special! At Happy Paws Veterinary Clinic we know how important your golden oldies are to you. Did you know that on average one year in a pet’s life is equivalent to about 7 years in a human’s life? Once your fur baby is over 7 years old they are considered a senior citizen.

For these pets we recommend twice yearly health checks (because 6 months to us works out to be 3 years to our fur babies!). We may also recommend undertaking blood and urine tests to allow us to screen for and address any underlying issues that may not be visible upon physical examination to support our seniors in having a happy, long life free from pain or suffering.

If you have concerns about your pet’s health or wish to book your pet in for a health check, call Happy Paws today.
