We’re Fully Equipped to Provide Both Basic and Complex Surgeries
Safety during surgery is paramount, so our monitoring equipment is up to date to ensure the highest standards of safety for your pet
Our surgical suite is fully equipped to provide both basic and complex surgeries for our patients.
We have up to date monitoring equipment to monitor your pet’s heart rate, blood oxygen levels, blood pressure, temperature and respiration to ensure that general anesthesia and surgery are as safe as possible. All of our patients undergoing inhalant general anesthesia have an intravenous catheter placed and are administered intravenous fluids during their anesthetic which also increases the safety of these procedures.
We provide a range of soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries from routine desexing, lump removal, intestinal surgery, bladder surgery and caesarean sections through to fractures and cruciate surgery. For more information on the surgeries we offer please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Some surgical procedures are beyond the scope of general practice and best done by a specialist. In some cases we will have a specialist surgeon come into our clinic to do your pets’ surgery or offer referral to a specialist surgeon if we feel it is in the best interest of your pet.
We recommend all animals not being used for breeding are desexed. This provides many medical benefits for both sexes as well as prevents potential behavior problems attributable to hormones. The ideal age for desexing cats of either sex is 4-6 months, before they reach sexual maturity. For dogs the recommended age for desexing varies a bit depending on sex and breed/size. Please contact us for a personalised recommendation for your pet.
Our desexing procedures are done Monday-Friday and require a day stay here with us at the clinic. Rest assured, we will aim to get your pet home as soon as possible. But while they are here, plenty of cuddles will be provided!
